In an ideal world, you would leave only a footprint, take your broken umbrellas, camping chairs, beach chairs, beach mats home with you, fix them and reuse them. Instead, after a long day at the beach.. why do that, it’s a hassle.. so do what many do, either just leave them so others can pick up or if really responsible, just put them in the trash, they can go to the nearest landfill.
Today, I counted no less than 10 camping- beach chairs, between the trashcans and left on the beach. That is in .5 miles.
Did you know that most beach chairs, camping chairs and even umbrellas, the metal is recyclable through many scrap dealers? Made from Aluminum, the chairs can be broken down pretty easily.
There is 4 parts to a camping chair. The frame (aluminum) which comes in tubes. The Canvas (which can be reused) the rivets or screws that might be able to be reused and the plastic fittings.
- Take to a Scrap dealer or the aluminum. Call your local dealer for pricing.
- The aluminum tubing could be used for wind chimes.
- Build a small garden fence with the metal tubing.
- Use frame as a tomato cage or other plantings.
