August has been another challenging month. Not only did I scrape 5 inches of skin off my leg (8 stitches and $583) and no swimming, plus they told me to stay off the beach. Spent over 2 hours with Apple getting my icloud straightened out (it still isn’t) July’s numbers and image are.. not gone, but am not taking another 5 hours to re-construct.. Sorry. Then someone took some of the beach trash and recyclables from the back.. always disappointing.
I think I spent half the month, fighting STRV’s, attending Town Council Meetings, Jury Duty, writing to the police about the lack of enforcement, going to the laundromat (washing towels and cloths), Recycling Center, Humane Society (donating) Electronic recycling center (donating electronics) finding cell phone owners, finding credit cards owners, Community Resource Center (donating more) having a few Beach Trash Find Sales, sorting and cleaning beach trash, tie-dying white hotel towel to see if anyone want to buy..out of town company.. and getting absolutely nothing done, or it feels like nothing got done. No beach trash art, very little writing and lots of aging relatives issues.
The top towel got ripped off. At least now, I have a Halloween decoration.
The two twin comforters were laying in front of a Firepit with campers for 2 days. Finally they left, it was washed and given to the Humane Society
This was a day that had so much trash, I left much behind. The toy basket is now being reused by one of neighbors, who keeps her upstairs cleaning supplies in it
Picked up 2 disposable BBQ’s this month. Both look like they have only been used 1 time.
This Timberland shirt look like it was brand new. I gave it to one of my neighbors grandson’s who has been helping me by taking the toys down to the bay and washing them out. He also got 2 like new Rainbow flip flops, skim board, Tie-dyed T-shirt, frisbees, water guns and other miscellaneous items.
The top Fleecy Blanket was like new.. which is probably one of the reason it also got ripped off from the back of my house. That and the blue towel.
Someone left 2 great but peeling paint beach chairs on the beach. This is the difference between cheap chairs. The canvas is still in great shape and most likely can be used for another 10 years. The paint will peel, but who cares. These chairs are now mine!
Two great towels were being washed away by the tide. Again, they were so great, they too were ripped off out of the back. The Lifeguard hat, was sold at the August Beach Trash Finds Sale.
It looks like there is less stuff, in reality there was so much, I left it in piles on the beach. My little test to see if anybody would pick it up!
One Yoga Mat.. only the 2nd found this year. I reuse them as floor mats in the kitchen. Monday beach clean after a Sunday, one of the heaviest trash days.
The Plastic Food crates, were given to me by one of the Park and Rec staff. These are not free anymore. The stores are recycling them.
Fleecy blankets have also become disposable. There are at any one time at least 1 in my little stretch of the beach. Most are left or just thrown in the trashcans. This batch included a pillow, which of course will be donated to the Humane Society after washing .
The small reusable bag are what I use for the small plastic and styrofoam pieces along the tide line. It doesn’t look like much, but it is easy to fill up 4 of them.

School has started.. and it would seem like there would be less trash…. but now the students move in, it will be the same, but most likely more clothes, wallets, cell phones, shoes. We still have Labor Day coming up.. can’t wait!

Cathy, this is disgusting and tragic! Some people have no respect for themselves, how they behave, or any one else either…pigs.
Cathy says
I completely agree!
