After research, anti-litter campaigner Tim Barnes of Litter Heroes – concluded that Coca Cola was the most littered brand in Britain. Litter Hero has spent over 2 Million on staff labor and staff walks about 3,000 miles per week picking up litter.
In my neighborhood, it’s mainly fast food and I would have to say 1.) Water bottles 2.) Rubios 3.) Carl’s Junior 4.) Candy wrappers from 7-11’s are the top littered items.

For years I have wanted to go to Coca-Cola and McDonalds and ask them to fund an anti-litter campaign directed at Middle School age children. Children of this age group can still be influenced to stop litter. Once teenagers start driving, I believe, they start littering. I have never had any proof that Coke and McDonalds are the most littered brands, but I suspect it is true. Even though this study was done in Britain, I think the results would be similar in the US. I would love to see Coke and McDonalds hold anti-litter convocations in our local schools. The children need to understand that it is their world to inherit. Do they really want to litter it the way they are currently? Rather, they should be demanding a cleaner earth, and it starts at home. Good study. Sure wish we could make them pay for such a campaign.
