I have two neighbors that are no longer quilting and would like to donate their quilting supplies to organization in need. I told them I would investigate it… and write about this. There are many charities and organizations that need sewing supplies, yarn, fabric and more. Even more organizations that make other items aside from quilts. Please contact each organization to confirm what they take.
- The easiest way to get rid of quilting supplies, is just to put it on Craigslist as FREE and most likely it would be gone in a week.
- The next easiest way is to contact your local Quilting Guild or www.quiltguilds.com and ask them where to donate.
- You can also contact local shelters, hospitals (Careweaar.org) and ask them.
- Schools: Some schools might need for crafting projects. Colleges might need for fashion or design projects.
- Prisons: Some prisons who offer classes might need donations.
- Senior Citizen Centers might need.
- Local Churches
