Beach trash is a global problem, effecting every single beach in the world. Today I picked up 23 plastic bags on the beach in 1/2 mile on the surf to towel line only. When I got an email from Dowe de Keiser owner of Studio ABZee in the Netherlands who showed how he reuses plastic bags into his driftwood art.. it was serendipity. He calls this is Plastic Soup Art and I really like it and could see putting these around the house or even in my garden.
I never would have thought of using plastic bags as sails. Today I picked up 15 plastic. Apparently he melts the plastic, which gives a windswept look. The wires attaching all parts are made from fishing nets also found on the beaches. These nets are also made from plastic also and I can’t even tell you how many marine animals they kill.
