Students will be starting to empty out dorm rooms over the next couple of months. Hundreds of bikes, clothes, books, posters and more will be thrown away. Millions of dumpsters will be filled with perfectly good and reusable and recyclable items.
1. Think Ahead. Start thinking now about what you’ll keep and what you’ll discard. Take a daily trip to the recycle bin, keep a lookout for e-waste free recycling. Start now.
2. Re-Sell or Re-use. Sell your items online at sites like Craigslist or eBay; Don’t have the time, donate to your local charity.
3.) Contact Dump and Run– An organization dedicated to serving the University and College community in waste prevention techniques. First, we desire to reduce the amount of waste generated at Colleges and Universities by extending the useful life of items no longer needed by the student community at years end. Second, to generate capital for non profit environmental and social groups willing to participate in the projects. Finally, we aim to educate the public about the problems regarding consumption of natural resources and the need to conserve those resources for future generations.
