The best “eco” friendly dog toys are old socks with an old tennis ball knotted up in it. Two things dogs love, tennis balls and smelly socks! If you really want to drive him crazy, put a few kibbles in the tennis ball, (cut a small slit in the ball), then put it in the sock and tie a know! Hours of entertainment, for free!
