When picking up trash, I often wonder what these millennial parents are teaching their kids. They certainly aren’t teaching them to pick up after themselves. It gets really discouraging to pick up thousands of toys, dirty diapers, shoes, clothing, food wrappers. It gets discouraging what a total disregard they have for the earth and for other people.
But Greta Thunberg has re-inspired me. This 16 year old kid is leading the pack and has become a spokesperson for Climate Change. She is 16 years old and nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.
16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg explains why she walked out of school in August 2018 and organized a strike to raise awareness of global warming, protesting outside the Swedish parliament. “The climate crisis has already been solved. We already have all the facts and solutions,” Thunberg says. “All we have to do is to wake up and change.”
While there are many videos of her, this one makes me cry, it is that powerful.
She raises important points and points out that each person makes a difference. Her ending statements on hope are so true, she promotes action, which will lead to hope. We have to change and it has to be today.
If this video doesn’t touch you in some way, I would be surprised.
