Thanks for this post. I became a fan of this event on fb and I’ll be looking for a beach for that day to join hands. Great idea! At least I can do….

Don’t know if a bunch of people holding hands is gonna wake up the public. The fact remains, we are all guilty of the oil spill. Those of us who have to have big cars, multiple cars, and live far away from our work place. I am guilty, I drive 5 blocks to the store. I don’t carpool. I drive a 28 MPG car….which isn’t bad, but there is better.
People WAKE UP, we all need to stop driving, if there is no demand, they won’t keep drilling in stupid places

Not only stop driving, stop using plastic- no bags, no bottles, reduce purchases, and walk, walk or take a bike to work or the store.

We really need to put technology to work on this problem. We are going to end up with beaches the size of sidewalks if we keep hauling it off to landfills.

Why aren’t we doing something! If they keep hauling the contaminated soil off to landfills we are going to end up with beaches the size of sidewalks. Let’s clean the oil from the sand!!!!

OK, so this is a very nice peaceful rally/protest, but what I want to know is how did they get to the beac h? Until WE, myself included, stop driving our cars, and purchasing cars with low fuel economy, we are not going to help our world….
Question to ask yourself:
Do you drive the best car for you and your families needs? My brother has 6 kids, so he needs a large car to get the 8 of them places…so for some an 8 seat large vehicle is OK. No one can answer that question but you. I think I drive a reasonable car for my families needs…but could I do better? Please people, next time to go buy a car….think about the oil spill and why BP was drilling in the gulf was for us to have our big cars.

I am riding my bike to the beach, car pooling is another option, bus, walking are wonderful options to getting to a beach

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!
