Forest Ethics is going to publish an exposé on major junk mail companies. “But we can’t stop there.
We’re up against a multi-billion-dollar industry. The Direct Marketing Association doesn’t care that junk mail destroys our environment, threatens our privacy and wastes our time–they’re fighting hard to silence us. That’s why we need to do something big: full-page, national newspaper, game-changing big.
Ads like this have been incredibly successful for our campaigns. Our “Victoria’s Dirty Secret” ad got us major media coverage across the country, including The Today Show, which helped convince Victoria’s Secret to use greener catalog paper. Our ad exposing the truth about the “green” claims of the office supply industry helped us leverage significant progress from Staples, Office Depot, Corporate Express and FedEx Kinko’s.
If you can help us raise $20,000, we can create a Do Not Mail ad and run it in USA Today‘s New York and Washington, D.C. editions in the beginning of 2009.
It’s amazing how far your support can go. With a fraction of the budget of our corporate counterparts, we transformed the office supply industry. We took on the catalog industry and won. And with your help, we’ll make junk mail history.
Sincerely,
Todd Paglia
Executive Director
P.S. If you make a donation of $100 or more, we’ll send you an exclusive Do Not Mail t-shirt. Please support our Do Not Mail ad today.
