Deliberate litter was found to comprise 29.8 percent of the total littered counted.
Snack food packaging was the only significant category of litter (greater than 5
percent) that was likely to be deliberately, rather than negligently littered. Cups, lids
and straws comprised 4.2 percent of the total littered items. Beer and soft drink
containers comprised 4.1 percent, while other beverage containers (juice, liquor, new
age beverages, sports drinks, tea, water, wine, etc.) comprised 1.3 percent.
roberta gonzales says
it seems to me that people in my neighborhood do not realize that in order for the city to pick up furniture from their curb, they have to call solid waste for a special pick-up at num#423-753-1652 or it will not be picked up. So if your wondering why your chair or tv is still on the side of the road its because you have to call for pickup…so please call and take the “eye sores” off the road. thanks
