These images have been haunting me, since litter is one of my pet peeves. The Little People Project was created in 2006 by artist Slinkachu, who started placing little people on streets in order to make city dwellers more aware of their surroundings.
For me it is a sad fact about the amount of litter found. Using litter to represent the heavy burden that trash and litter place upon society.
Animals eat litter and trash. Litter increases vermin such as rats. Not only that it helps to spread diseases.
Trillions of cigarette butts are littered every year, finding it’s way into our waste streams and water sources.
Nothing is worse than going on a bike ride or a hike to find the view destroyed by litter.

I’m familiar with the Little People Project, and love the work – but adding your words and conviction to their presentation here cranks them up, for me. Great post, and really well said!
