NaturCert is a global independent organisation which has developed the NaturCert Certification Program for the environment and society.
The NaturCert Certification Program standards assess the environmental and social performance of companies wishing to become certified and is the only certification program aiming to bring individuals as well as civil society stakeholders, closer to the businesses whose products and services they choose to purchase.
Being an independent organisation has given us the advantage to integrate throughout the research and development of the NaturCert Certification Program standards, criteria and processes developed and implemented by international organisations such as the United Nations and the UN Environment Program, the European Commission (Agenda for a sustainable and competitive European tourism), the Environmental Protection Agency (USA), The Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development, the International Standards Organisation (ISO), the CEN (European Committee for Standardization) as well as national and regional standardisation bodies representing the tourism sector such as the Tour Operators’ Initiative, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the World Travel & Tourism Council.
The incorporation of all the standards, criteria and processes and available knowledge resources into the NaturCert Certification Program has resulted to a genuine Certification Program integrating all operational aspects of companies eligible for certification with over 100 distinct and targeted criteria.
The program gives the power to individuals and civil society actors to know which companies are caring for our environment and societies and make choices according to the principles of sustainability. It gives the opportunity to all individuals, business owners and civil society stakeholders to make a step forward for people and the planet!
