Another everyday occurrence is the amount of bottle caps both plastic and metal strewn in streets, sidewalks and beaches. When I pick up trash, bottle caps comprise of at least 20% of all litter on a good day. The problem with bottle caps on a beach, is they are easily lost and buried in the sand washing out to oceans and or washed down storm drains. So I ask What are people thinking! This is deliberate litter and absolutely no excuse.
It is not just the bottle caps that become trash 1.) First their is the plastic covering over the cap that you have to strip off. 2.) There is the bottle cap itself 3.) There is the up to 2 layers of inside lining of plastic or cardboard.. most it appears end up in trash.
The best way to eliminate #5 bottle caps is try to eliminate any time of beverage or food that has bottle caps including water bottles and drink bottles. Those items are luxury items, expensive, thereby just using a reusable bottle you will make and save green.
