At the Cardiff Green Surf show I ran across some incredible works of art using broken surf boards. Thousands of broken surfboards get trashed every year on our beaches. Surfboards are not biodegradable and contribute to huge landfill space. The Art of Surfing has taken a green turn with artist reusing and reclaiming old boards and re-creating into wonderful works of art.
Corpus Cristi based artist John Olvey takes old and broken surfboards and either reworks
Local San Diego artist, John Foultz, Keiki Tikis takes those non- biodegradable surfboard blanks and carves surf tikis.
Resurface Art, another contributor to Surf Art, not only takes the old boards, creates art and Gives Back to World Vision
