People always ask what what the best thing you have found on the beach. I have found many ‘cool’ things and have found that other salvagers also do some collecting.. we are going to start to share our ‘Beach Trash Finds Of The Day’ Posted below are my most unusual find for January 2019.
These shoes are typical of fast fashion.. cheap and throwaway. This was right after New Years Eve. Not your normal beach shoe…
Always love finding beer and a gallon of water to help water my plants through the summer. They are resting on a T-shirt. As an FYI in the month of January I collected 6 Gallons of un-drunk bottled water. Stocking up for the summer.
Patriotic or not.. it is still uncool to just leave this behind
More ‘Fast Food’.. cheap large metal spoon about to be washed away.
This CD case washed up or left.. How it got to the beach and as you can see about to be washed away, I don’t know.
Found in the nick of time, a small clutch purse with money still intact. 2nd Wallet found in 2 days. Both were returned successfully due to Facebook. Luckily both had pages and actually responded back.
I am rich!!! Found pennies in the parking lot at our jetty.
I absolutely hate finding cell phones. It is such as hassle to track down the owner. No, I don’t leave them at the Lifeguard station, where they will probably just sit In this case it was a MI phone. Never heard of it as well as the provider. My cousin’s son is a geek and loves these puzzles, found the sim card and was able to message one of the owners friends. Unfortunately after a week of waiting, I donated to the Goodwill and that same day, she called me! She had already cancelled and reset passwords and got a new phone.
As much as I hate the drinking and trash that goes along with it, these are welcome sights
Barbie 4 and 5 of the year. Again weighted down by a rock right at the tide line.
This Barbie was close to yesterday and must have been buried in the sand.
Firepits can wield good stuff. These particular fire pits are at the jetty and the ‘campers’ seem to be homeless or fisherman. This was a fisherman who left behind his cooler and some tools.
2 Fire pits up on the same day, must have been busy this night a mess of clothes, a shovel and a whole bunch of trash and of course.. evidence of liquor packaging.
The clothes went to Tijuana. Clothes are not really that special, as there is lots of clothing left on the beach. this was the biggest batch of clothes this year.
Lastly, this was not my find.. Bob, another walker, trash picker upper found this. I usually meet him at the end of my route and he had just found this. As you can see, it most likely is pretty trashed, wet and sandy.
Not listed, 1 wetsuit Bootie, (Storm BPS) 1 decent but disposable boogie board and some fairly decent Adidas tennis shoes (my brother took) a great windbreaker (my neighbor took). Of course there were some funky toys
Will try to remember to Track better the ‘Finds’ of the Day with pictures.
