My sister sent me this great promotion to Save Water in San Diego. All schools are invited to take the 20 Gallon Water Pledge to win tickets to Sea World, Legoland, Wild Animal Park and SeaWorld. Why I think this is great- kids are some of the worst litters and wasters of water. The worst areas of litter are around schools and fast food places where kids hang out. Not to be presumptive, but if they have not learned about conservation (Litter) they probably have not learned about saving water. I know some if not all my nieces and nephews are not concerned about water.
If you live in San Diego, sign up for the challenge, if you don’t live in drought area- still take the challenge. It can be a family event and time of sharing and discussing environmental issues and how precious water is to live. If you are parent or a teacher- find out about other programs at San Diego Water Authority

This is a great initiative! As you are aware half of the world’s population has problems accessing clean drinking water and places like Southern California are facing a water shortage. Small things like turning off the faucet when brushing your teeth can save 3 gallons per day, taking a shorter shower saves 5 gallons a day, and installing a smart sprinkler controller in the garden saves 40 gallons per day. In this way, we can save gallons of water a day! More water saving tips at http://j.mp/FaBfv
