In a previous post I had written about New York wanting to start a program on recycling cigarette butts. but fortunately there is a clothing designer who is taking those cigarette butts off the street and recycling them into fashionable clothing!

Alexandra Guerrero, a Chilean fashion designer and her design house Project Mantis has come up with a way to use up those butts and create clothing.

The community estimates an average of 4,000 cigarette butts are dropped in the town center daily, then collected during routine street cleanings and sent to the landfill.
Environmentalists Has Idea For Recycling Cigarette Butts– Baffico envisions collecting those discards at frequent buyback events and then using them to make products such as filling for gymnastic mats or even material for clothing, he said. So far, the plan has received about $1,500 in in-kind and monetary support.

My first time to hear about recycled cigarrete butts,but its not bad at all maybe it doesnt encouraged people to smoke and smoke so that more cigar butts can be recycled but also it brings awareness to the public about littering.
