Most people would say pretty yucky on the infographic on eating insects, but I am here to tell you, having eaten many insects in other countries, it is not as bad as you think. Most countries eat insects, all but the western countries. Bugs are full of protein, low fat and an easy transfer to humans. After reading about this and the infographic,, crickets are a much better alternative to potato chips and will have to start on a mission to find some insect munchies.
I Just Gotta Eco Ya:
- There are about 800,000 million types of insects and 1,500 are known to be a regular part of the human diet.
- American unintentionally eat about 1 pound of insects a year
- Chocolate can have up to 60 insect fragments per 100 grams, tomato sauce can contain 30 fly eggs per 100 grams, and peanut butter can have 30 insect fragments per 100 grams (3.5 ounces), according to the FDA.
- Eating insects is call entomophagy
