A friend of mine asked me how to recycle or get rid of a large old bathroom mirror. I told her what I did, is up-cycled mine into a mirror in my bedroom. Mirrors are hard to get rid of. Other than placing them on a Giving Away site, donating them or pay to take them to a landfill (horrors!) What else can you do?
I Just Got To Eco Ya
- Mirrors are a chemically treated glass and cannot be recycled. Your really old mirror might be leaded glass, a very toxic material.
Ways To Reuse Mirrors
.) You can cut down mirrors to make a smaller mirror, frame it for a nice decor piece.
.) Shattered mirrors can be used in mosaic detailing to put on pots or other items to gussy them up.
.) If framed, can still reuse the frame
.) You glue wine corks on and remake into a bullentin board
.) Make a Kaliescope
.) You can reuse mirrors in creating a reflective interior backsplash
.) Make a homemade disco ball
.) Make your own reflective stepping stones with mirrors. Just put in wet cement
.) Reuse both mirrors and old windows as decor
.) Make into a Serving Tray
.) Place your favorite pictures on and hang
.) Stained glass artists can reuse mirrors in their artwork
.) Make Christmas Tree Ornaments
.) Decorate a car or bus
.) Decorate a Table
.) Make Garden Decor
.) Make Mirror Sculptures
