After much deliberation- I finally bought a water filter from Home Depot-
GE GXULQ-($59.99) It’s not installed yet, so can’t tell you how it works. The issue I have with water filters- Do I really need one? Another True Confession- I don’t mind drinking tap water. Currently I use a Brita Filter and use it mainly for guests now that i have eliminated the bottled water habit!
But- as a new green home (if I ever get there, 6 months and counting!) and since I will be selling, I think it’s an important benefit, another whistle and bell in this market. That said- I only purchased 1 as an easy install under the kitchen faucet.
But if you are considering a water filter, the best resource I have found is from the Green Guide – who has an in depth article on water filters with ratings. You can find good deals on specific filters online at various sites so when you’re searching around, don’t just search for cheap filters. Search for something specific like a Ukf8001 filter.
